--------------------ANSWERS--------------------
Q1. Is it hard to
set up?
The short answer to
this common question is no. Without guidance it can be tricky, but my
French TV For Free guide takes you through the whole process
step-by-step, meaning everything is made as simple as possible. We
have included all the information you will need to be able to easily
set up your own system. And, of course, if in the unlikely even you
did get stuck, you can always get help from me so you have total peace
of mind. Getting your own French TV system is a lot easier than you
might think - as long as you have the correct information!

Q2.
Are the
channels really free?
Yes they are! The
French TV stations are broadcast via satellite and can be readily picked up
here in the UK. They are exactly the same French TV channels that people
in France watch every day on their normal televisions. This is what
makes getting these French television stations
in your own home so great. You get "real" French TV which is very
entertaining and is great for improving your French language skills.

Q3. I heard Canal+ is scrambled?
Canal + is a
subscription channel so it is scrambled for most of the day. It is
exactly the same in France. You can pick up this station on a regular
television in France but it is scrambled there too. You can purchase a
decoder box in France to decrypt the channel. However, the channel
does broadcast some programs "descrambled", or as the French would say
"en clair". This means that, although this French TV channel is
scrambled most of the time, you can still watch some programs on it
when they remove the encryption.
Most days there are
several periods when the encryption is removed. How do you know when?
Simple, just take a look at the canal + website and the TV guide will
show you.

Q4. Do I
need special installation equipment?
No! This is the beauty
of the system we have developed. You can successfully install your own
French satellite TV system without any special equipment at all. You
will of course require a few standard household tools
such a drill and possibly a pair of ladders etc. but other than this,
no other special equipment is required - not even a compass! My French
TV For Free
guide will take you through the process we have developed which will
have your French television system up and running very quickly.

Q5. Doesn't the French TV
display in black & white on
a
UK TV?
This is something that
not all companies selling satellite equipment will mention. Most of
Europe uses the PAL television system. When I say "most of Europe"
I
mean every European country except for, you guessed it, France! France
does like to be different, and their TV system makes no exception. The
French TV standard is called SECAM. Although it is different to PAL
you CAN watch SECAM TV broadcasts on a PAL television. However, if
your TV is not multi-standard, i.e. has a SECAM
as well as a PAL tuner, the picture will show in black and white.
However, the good news
is that most modern televisions ARE multi-standard
and will show the image in COLOUR! It can be quite difficult to
determine if your TV does have full SECAM compatibility since it is
rarely stated in the TV instruction book, but most newer TV's are.
Even if your TV will display French TV only in black and white, this
is still fantastic. After a while you won't even notice it is in black
and white.

Q6. Will watching French TV improve
my French?
Yes! Watching French
TV will vastly improve the full range of your French skills. It will
give you fantastic exposure to the language in all its glory. It
really is one of the best tools available for taking your French
language skills to the next level. I have prepared a FREE 7 part
course giving you tips on how to improve your French by watching
French TV. You can get this free by signing up below. You will also
get my guide to the top 10 must-see French films.

Q7. How much will the equipment
cost me?
This is another great
feature. You can pick up everything you need for literally the price
of a few beers! In my French TV For Free guide I give you plenty of ideas
for where to get all the stuff you need. You do not need to spend
£300+. In fact somebody I showed our guide to during the final stages
of development, managed to pick up everything he needed for only £5!
You are unlikely to get it as cheaply as this
but it won't cost you a whole lot more. Who says real French TV has to
be expensive? I don't.

Q8. How long will it take to set
up?
With the aid of my
French TV For Free guide, you'll be able to set up your French analogue TV system in a
short space of time. This is not something you can do in 5 minutes but
you can have everything done in a couple of hours. The secret is in
the planning. And all this is explained in detail in our guide.

Q9. What is the picture quality
like?
The picture quality is
excellent. The actual quality will vary slightly from system to system
but for most people, they get a very good picture from their setup. I
am 100% certain you will be delighted with the results you get.

Q10. Do
I have to be good at DIY?
Installing a French
Analogue TV system can be easily done by the average person. You do
not need to be a "DIY buff" and definitely do not need to be a DIY
expert. Even if you class yourself as a DIY disaster you should be ok!
But the fact is that even if you wouldn't dream of touching anything
DIY, you are bound to have a friend or family member who would love to
help you out. This really is a fun project and you really will enjoy
carrying it out.
In fact, if you work
with a friend to install the system, it can make the whole thing a lot
more fun, and you can get it done in a shorter space of time.
My guide breaks
everything down into simple, clear and well described steps so you can
be certain that whatever your opinion of your DIY skills may be, you
shouldn't have any trouble installing your
French TV system.

Q11. Is
it legal?
Yes 100%. The French
TV channels you can pick up are free-to-air broadcasts that are 100%
legal to pick up and watch in the pleasure and comfort of your own
home.

Q12. Do
I need a TV license if I
only watch French TV ?
Good question. Until a
couple of years ago, if you only watched foreign satellite television,
it was not necessary to purchase a UK TV
license. However, the current, tax-happy government decided to change
the rules. So now, even if you never even think about watching a
single second of a UK broadcast image, you are obliged to have a UK TV
license. Fair? Of course not! But since you will already have a UK TV
license you do not need to worry about it.

quickly will I receive the CD-rom?
If you decide to order

tangible orders (i.e. CD's) are
despatched by first class post so will usually be with you 1 to 2 days

Q15.
How can I find out
what's on French TV?
French TV listings are
available on the individual channel's website. A
list of these websites is included in my French TV For Free
guide, and you can
access them also on the
TV Guide page
of this site.
However, that said, it
can be quite frustrating visiting different websites to get the
listings of the stations. This is why I include a bonus video with my
French TV For Free package wherein I take you to my favourite French
TV listing website and show you how to get all the info you need in
one convenient place.

Q18. Will the analogue satellite signal eventually be turned off?
In short, yes - as with the UK, TV in France will eventually 'go digital' and the analogue signal that getting French TV relies on will also be turned off, at which point my 'system' will no longer work. When will this happen? The is no fixed date for when the signal will be turned off, but it will eventually stop working. It could be as soon as 2010 or as late as 2012. This is even more reason to get your system set up now to take advantage of it whilst you still can.
